UPDATE ON THE SEARCH FOR WYOMING'S NEXT BISHOP 01-20-10

Greetings from the Transition Committee for Wyoming's Bishop Search!
Just days from now, the schedule and route for the upcoming Bishop Nominee Walkabouts will be made public. The statewide tour will take place Feb.24 - Mar. 3 and will attempt to reach as many communities as possible. As you can imagine, it's a herculean task to coordinate scores of people and parishes in this endeavor. (If you are a parish which has received a call from one of the walkabout coordinators, please return the call ASAP so we can confirm the nominees' visit with you.)
Once all of the stops are confirmed, details pertaining to meeting format, questions for nominees, etc. will be made public soon after. Some folks have expressed confusion over the "questions for nominees" which have been posted recently on the wydiocese listserve. Those questions were not generated by the Transition Committee. Rather, some folks in the diocese are using that venue to share issues of interest and concern. All of the bishop nominees are subscribed to the listserve and can see the discussions there.
If you have questions which you wish to be addressed during the walkabouts, please send them directly to the Transition team at wyomingbishopsearch@gmail.com -- there will be Q&A sessions facilitated throughout the nominee visits.

The Electing Convention is scheduled for March 20, 2010 at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Laramie. (March 27 is the back-up date in the event that weather makes the 20th impossible.)

Eternal God, our sovereign Creator, Redeemer and Guide, in your mercy give your Church in the Diocese of Wyoming a shepherd after your own heart, who will walk in your ways, and with loving care watch over your people. Grant us a leader with your vision and a teacher of your truth, so your Church here may be built up and your name glorified; though Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
